Ty is an accredited specialist in personal injury law, he is based in our Wangaratta office and attends the Shepparton office on a regular basis.

Ty joined the firm as a law graduate in 2012 and was admitted to practice in early 2013 in both the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. He completed his Bachelor of Laws at Monash University and prior to joining the firm, Ty had previously graduated from Monash with a Masters in Holocaust & Genocide Studies and a Bachelor of Arts. Alongside his studies, Ty worked as a Law Clerk and Paralegal in Melbourne for over 4 years.

Ty has experience in matters before all Victorian Courts including the Court of Appeal, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, the Fair Work Commission, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and various human rights commissions. He regularly provides advice to workers in the areas of employment law, discrimination law and workers compensation. He also regularly acts for and advises individuals in personal injury matters including TAC (Motor Vehicle Accident) claims, public liability claims and medical liability claims.

Ty was recently appointed a Regional Ambassador for the Australian Lawyers Alliance and is also a member of the Supreme Court of Victoria Junior Practitioners User Group.


Ty is passionate about addressing workplace inequality and the power imbalance between individual workers and employers.

Ty is also able to advise on commercial law transactions including retail and commercial leases and the sale or purchase of businesses.

Ty’s Areas of Expertise


  • Providing advice in relation to Workcover and Transport Accident Serious Injury Claims, Damages proceedings and Statutory Benefits matters;
  • Running and instructing County Court proceedings in relation to Serious Injury Claims;
  • Running and instructing County and Supreme Court proceedings in relation to WorkCover damages matters and proceedings under the Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic);
  • Providing advice to workers in relation to the termination of their employment;
  • Running and instructing Fair Work Commission applications for unfair dismissal and breaches of the general protections provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth); 
  • Running and instructing underpayment and unpaid entitlement applications for workers in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia; and
  • Running and instructing discrimination proceedings in both Victorian and Federal jurisdictions.
